Services and events
All services occur in the Church and all other events occur in the Parish Hall, unless stated otherwise.

Sunday 19 August

9:30 am: service for the Twelfth Sunday after Trinity. 

Monday 20 August —Thursday 23 August

9:30 am — 12:30 pm: Breakfast Club in the Hall. Free food and craftwork.

All are welcome.

Monday 20 August

10:00 am — 12:00 noon: Community Café and Job Club, in the Main Hall.

10:00 am –12:00 noon: Hearts and Crafts — craftwork led Audra Walsh for people with mental disabilities.


2:30 pm: Prayers in the vestry.

Tuesday 21 August

10:00 am: Holy Communion.

A said service according to Common Worship.

Wednesday 22 August

9:00–10:00 am: Scripture breakfast in the Parish Room.

We start with a short passage of scripture for discussion, then prayers. We conclude with a good cooked breakfast.

Wednesday 22 August

10:00 am — 12:00 noon: Community Café and Job Club, in the Main Hall.

Friday 24 August

6:00–7:30 pm: Youth club in the Main Hall.

Entry costs 50p per child.

Saturday 25 August 

5:00–7:00 pm: Knit and Natter.

All proceeds go to the ‘United by Wool’ group. All are welcome. 

Sunday 2 September

10:30 am (approx): barbecue in the Hall. The barbecue starts straight after the man Sunday service.

Saturday 16 September

6:00–9:00 pm: ‘Ban the waste’ Harvest supper  

Delicious, fresh vegetarian meals made with food saved from waste by Fareshare. Prepared for you by St Barnabas’ chef.

A good night out with a side order of Eco Church.

Sunday 1 October

9:30 am: An inspiring and traditional Harvest Festival service within the context of a spiritually uplifting Eucharist.

We follow the service with a good, free lunch in the Hall.


Sunday 28 October

2:00 pm: The Commemoration of the Faithful Departed (“All Soul’s Day”).

During the service, we remember everyone who has died in the past few years, and/or has an association with the Church and its people.


Sunday 11 November

9:15 am: A dignified and moving Remembrance Service.

We also celebrate a hundred years since the armistice that ended the Great War.

Saturday 17 November

7:30 pm: Another wonderful Waterhead Church Quiz. The entrance fee includes a cheese and wine supper.

All are welcome.

Sunday 16 December

6:00 pm: Carol Service. All the magic of Christmas wrapped into one service.

Our traditional carol service includes all your favourite carols, and is joined by the Soul Inspiration Gospel Singers and the Tame Valley Brass Ensemble.

Monday 24 December

4:00 pm: Chrstingle service. An electric sense of anticipation fills a hushed and expectant Church.

Monday 24 December

11:30 pm: The air hangs heavy with the mystery of the how ‘The word became flesh and dwelt among us’.

A traditional service of Midnight Mass at our sister Chruch of Holy Trinity, Waterhead (OL4 2JQ).

Tuesday 25 December

9:30 am: Christmas Day An explosion of joy as we celebrate our Lord’s birth and incarnation. Includes a Eucharist and carols.
